Danny Jones RIP

The CDFL would like to send our condolences to all the family and friends of local football star Danny Jones. Danny, whose picture appears on the top right of our web site, was a well known individual whose enthusiasm and passion for football rubbed off on anyone who knew him. As well as being a coach with the Chester FC Academy, he was also a founding member of CDFL Premier Division side City Bar. His passing at the age of 31 will be a massive blow to his family and all our thoughts and wishes are with them at this very sad time. RIP Danny.

Vets Division

The CDFL are looking at the possibility of forming a vets division for the 2015-2016 season. Anyone interested should contact Paul Graham via in the first instance for further information.

Woodchurch FC Achieve Charter Standard Status

The CDFL are proud to announce that Woodchurch FC have been accredited Charter Standard Status this week. League Secretary, Paul Graham, commented “We are delighted that all the hard work by Phil and his team has been acknowledged with this award. We now hope that our other clubs will follow their example and start towards their own accreditation.”

CDFL Team Applications for 2015-2016 Season.

The CDFL are currently accepting applications for new teams to join the CDFL for the 2015-2016 season. Interested parties should contact League Secretary Paul Graham via e-mail to for further details.

CDFL Representative Side Managers Position

The CDFL are currently accepting applications for the Managers position for our newly formed Representative side that will be taking part in the FA National Leagues Competition for the 2015-2016 season. Interested parties should contact League Secretary Paul Graham via e-mail to giving details of past experience. The date for applications close on 10th February 2015.

It is with deep regret that we hear today of the passing of former Cheshire County FA Secretary Alan Collins. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. As a mark of respect and to acknowledge his contribution to all levels of football all CDFL games will be holding a minutes silence on Saturday 10th January 2015.

CDFL to Enter Representative Side into FA Inter League Cup 2015-2016

The CDFL are proud to announce that we have been invited to enter a representative side into the national FA Inter League Cup in 2015-2016 season. As such we will now be asking for applications from coaches and team organisers for the vacant posts. Full details will be circulated in due course. Any interested applicants should contact League Secretary Paul Graham in the first instance via e-mail to, giving relevant details of qualifications and experience. Full details will be circulated to our clubs shortly. League Secretary, Paul Graham said “This is a tremendous opportunity for our league and clubs. It shows the quality of football being played in Chester, Wirral and surrounding areas by CDFL players. We will now start the process of recruitment to ensure our side gets off to a winning start.”

SGM Called for 4th December 2014

A Special General Meeting of the league has been called for Thursday 4th December 2014.

It will be held in the Legends Lounge of the Swansway Stadium, Bumpers Lane, Chester, commencing at 7pm. All clubs must be in attendance.

Woodlands Santos Fixtures Suspended

All Woodlands Santos fixtures have been postponed with immediate affect. If anyone is interested in taking over th running of this club they should contact Paul Graham for further details. This is a unique opportunity with great potential.
