It is with the deepest regret that the CDFL inform you of the sad passing of Doug Johnson.
Doug has been a member of the CDFL since 1964 and has held most offices within the league, with his last stint as Secretary covering 2000-2002. His devotion to local football and his service to the game was truly exceptional.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Woodchurch Athletic are looking to recruit a manager for their newly formed Reserves side for the coming season. This is a great opportunity for the right applicant. The club has recently been accredited Charter Standard Status and have received funding from the football foundation. Coaching courses will be available should they be required. The Chester DFA are holding a new referee course for the coming season. If you are interested please contact Liam Power on 07974 772095. The course will be held at Kings School on Saturday 4th July, Sunday 5th July and Saturday 11th July. 9am – 4pm. Course fee is £120 and the minimum age is 14.
The CDFL AGM will be held on Thursday 25th June 2015 at the Swansway Stadium, Chester. Details will be posted to all clubs shortly. The CDFL would like to wish Lee Anson of Woodchurch Athletic a speedy recovery. Lee, who played a major part in Woodchurch’s double winning season, suffered major injuries after a fall over the weekend that have resulted in Spinal injuries and head trauma. We wish Lee and his family all the best and hope to see him back with Woodchurch in the near future. Regards from all in the CDFL.
The draw has take place for the FA National Inter League Cup. The CDFL have been given a tough first game in the competition and will entertain holders Isle of Man League. Once a date and Venue have been set details will be forwarded. Manager Andrew Dutton will now start to assemble his squad for the game with trials due to start in the next couple of weeks.
The rearranged final of the CDFL Roodee Web Designs will be held at Vauxhall Motors on Saturday 16th May, 3pm kick off. £3 admission, all welcome.
The CDFL Roodee Web Designs Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy Final will be held at the Swansway Stadium, home of Chester FC on Friday 6th May, 6:30pm kick off. All are welcome to see two of the top teams this season, Blacon Thistle FC and Helsby FC Reserves, contest a close game. Admission is £3.50 with children under 16 free if accompanied by an adult.
