CDFL Restructuring of Premier Division

It is with regret that I inform you that two of our CDFL Premier Division sides have folded with less than a week to the start of the season.

Both Frog FC and Tarvin Athletic FC have folded after failing to give assurances about being able to see the season through. Both clubs have been working tirelessly to start the season but were unable to do so.

As a result and after discussions between officers of the league, a premier division place has been offered to Raby Villa and they have accepted and been duly promoted. It was felt that Raby had a very strong season last year and will be able to add competitiveness to the division.

It has been an unusually difficult start to the season with some teams struggling but we feel that everything is now in place to ensure a full and consistent season for all our clubs.

If you check out www.CDFL.org.uk you will see the new league lay outs.

As a result, some clubs will have fixture amendments. I ask that you bear with us and you will be contacted with your new schedule if you have been affected.

I thank you all for your patience in this matter.

Best regards and good luck for the season.

Hon Secretary

5 a Side Tournament – Clubs Welcome

The CDFL would like to invite clubs to enter a team into a five a side tournament we are running in conjunction with Goals Soccer Centre, Chester. All proceeds from the event will go towards our charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The Tournament will take place on Saturday, August 11th 2012, the week before the official start to the CDFL season and will consist of group games then a knock out basis. Full details will be given closer to the time. The cost will be £5 a player and each team will consist of a squad of 8 (5 players and 3 subs). There will be trophies and medals for the winners along with many other prizes.
Goals Soccer Centres offer the latest in state of the art 5G playing surfaces, and Chester is the latest in the groups portfolio. After seeing a £3 million investment in the centre, the CDFL are delighted that Goals have offered us the use of this magnificent arena.
Please show us your full support and help us to raise as much as we can for Claire House. Places will be in demand so please contact me to guarantee your space.
As always I thank you for supporting the CDFL and our charity Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Please contact League Secretary Paul Graham for further details.

Respect Campaign

This coming season the CDFL will be actively re-promoting the FA’s Respect Campaign. A copy of the codes of conduct can now be found on the League Documents page. All clubs are reminded that this is a RESPECT LEAGUE. In order to participate in the CDFL you must also fully comply with all that this entails. As you are aware, the 2012-2013 season will see the start of the Respect Marking System. This is where all clubs will be marked for Sportsmanship, Attitude and Hospitality. Action will be taken against any club who falls short and continually achieve low marks. As such, a copy of these codes of conduct will be e-mailed to each club. It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that ALL your players, club officials and coaches and spectators read a copy and adhere to them. It is advisable to get them to sign a copy to say that they have read it. Please make sure this is done and lets all look forward to a successful and enjoyable season.

Fixtures

The preliminary fixtures for August are now on display. The full list will be e-mailed to everyone shortly.
